Position Responsibilities

“The Center for Advanced Metallic and Ceramic Systems at The Johns
Hopkins University invites applications for 2 postdoctoral positions to
work on projects funded by Army Research Laboratories.

The first postdoctoral scholar will help develop computational models of
metallic-glass-matrix composites.

The second postdoctoral scholar will develop probabilistic models of the constitutive behavior of ceramic
materials, as well as help to develop models of these materials under
high-strain-rate failure conditions.

The successful applicants must have received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Civil
Engineering, or related discipline. Regardless of home discipline, both candidates’ backgrounds should have a strong computational mechanics component. The ideal candidate for the first position will also have a background in metallic glass materials.

** The ideal candidate for the second position will have some experience with probabilistic mechanics
and micromechanics.**
